Transit Security Officer (Seattle, WA)Pay: $25/hr (Transit Assignments)Other Sites: $21-$25/hr depending on locationFortified International, a veteran-operated security company, is seeking motivated and professional Transit Security Officers to join our Seattle team. These positions will primarily support King County Metro Transit operations, with additional opportunities at non-transit sites across the Seattle metro area.Position OverviewTransit Security Officers play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for riders, employees, and the public across the King County Metro system. Officers are visible, approachable, and professional-patrolling stations, platforms, and transit vehicles, while monitoring activity to deter crime, ensure rider safety, and support transit staff.Responsibilities Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of transit hubs, platforms, park-and-rides, and other assigned areas. Deter criminal activity, disruptive behavior, and safety hazards through high-visibility patrols. Provide customer service by assisting riders with directions, information, and general support. Enforce King County Metro Transit rules of conduct and Fortified International post orders. Respond to incidents, write accurate reports, and communicate effectively with supervisors, transit staff, and law enforcement when required. Maintain a professional, approachable presence at all times-especially in high-traffic public areas. Qualifications Valid WA State Unarmed Guard License (DOL activated) - required before hire. Valid Washington State driver's license with a clean driving record. Candidates must have their records checked prior to the completion of our security officer training to be considered for this position. Pass a drug screen and background check. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Professional appearance, dependable work ethic, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Prior security, law enforcement, or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required. Compensation & Schedule Transit Assignments (King County Metro): $25/hr Non-Transit Optional Assignments: $21-$25/hr depending on site Additional hours may be available for reliable officers who perform well.
