As a Roadway and Bridge Construction Inspector 2, you will monitor and ensure the quality of construction activities at various job sites. This role is primarily focused on routine inspections under the guidance of senior inspectors and engineers. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of traffic control, environmental safeguards, construction techniques, and materials while working under direct supervision. Evaluate the acceptability of contractors' work and recommend acceptance or rejection of daily reports based on compliance with project specifications. Review the contractor's quality control measures and material testing to ensure adherence to established guidelines. Perform sampling and in-place testing of materials such as soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt pavement. Your Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Certifications from a State Highway Agency or a National Entity (such as ACI or NICET) in relevant areas are preferred. Valid driver's license is mandatory. A minimum of 6 months of related experience is required; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Flexibility for domestic and international travel may be necessary, depending on project demands. Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. Basic understanding of mathematics and construction materials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
