ELL experience or bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred. Strong conflict management skills essential. Must demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and communicate effectively both verbally and written. Willingness to work in tutoring situations with a diverse group of students. Ability to work as a team member. Line of Supervision:Reports directly to the Building Principal.Position Responsibilities Include: Assist students and teacher in classrooms. Working with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning of skills introduced by teachers. Assisting the teacher in devising strategies for reinforcing skills based on understanding of students' needs, interests and abilities. Guiding independent study, enrichment work and remedial work set up and assigned by the teachers. Participating in in-service training programs as assigned. Escort students to and from class, support classroom work and behavior support. Completion of clerical tasks related to translation of documents. Other duties as assigned.
