VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTCrew Leader - DrainageStarting Salary: $46,165We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Crew Leader to supervise our public works drainage crew. Join our team and contribute to essential city operations with the following responsibilities and requirements:Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise crews in public works repair and maintenance tasks. Assign, participate in, and inspect work; handle emergency calls. Utilize computer systems for preparing reports, emails, and time sheets. Oversee cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment. Operate and supervise operation of trucks and heavy equipment. Engage with the public professionally, addressing complaints and inquiries. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Drainage Responsibilities: Locate existing utilities and assist contractors and homeowners. Clean drop inlets and storm drains for effective storm system runoff. Support utility crew with water and sewer system installations and repairs. Participate in emergency operations, including snow and ice removal and utility repairs. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of experience in supervising public works maintenance and repairs, or equivalent education/experience. Special Requirements: CPR Certification Work Zone Certification Flagging Certification Traffic Safety License Classified 5 Water License Valid commercial driver's license Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of public works maintenance and repair principles. Familiarity with city laws, ordinances, and safety regulations. Strong supervisory and managerial capabilities. Proficient in data computation and equipment operation. Effective in problem resolution and decision making. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and operating manuals. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
