As an Allied Universal team member assigned to access control in a retail or mall environment, you will monitor entrances, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. What You'll Do: Perform access control duties at the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals while helping to deter unauthorized access. Provide customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and/or shoppers with inquiries and directions in a professional manner. Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal and client requirements. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and perimeter to observe and report any irregularities or concerns. Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter theft, loss, or other prohibited activities. Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to company and client protocols. Support emergency response activities, including assisting with evacuations or other procedures as required by site policies. Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required. Customer service experience is preferred. Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
