Payroll & Accounting Specialist

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping businesses thrive? We are looking for a Payroll/Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team and provide top-notch accounting services to our clients.What You'll Do:Process full-cycle payroll, sales tax, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, 1099 preparation, and financial statementsUse QuickBooks and Accounting CS to assist clients with daily transactions and resolve accounting issuesPrepare responses to IRS and State tax notices related to payroll and sales taxEnsure all client deliverables are accurate and completed on timeStay up-to-date with payroll and bookkeeping best practices through training and continuing educationIdentify opportunities to provide additional services to clientsMaintain confidentiality of client and firm informationSupport other client services as needed, including individual and business tax return preparationRequired Skills & Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and customer service skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting CS, QuickBooks, or related softwareExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines and handle pressure in a positive and professional mannerCritical thinking and creative problem-solving skillsActively participates in organizational meetings and discussionsStrong desire to learn new skillsAbility to effectively prioritize and work independently or as part of a teamAbility to thrive in a changing work environmentEducation & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferredWorking knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to payroll, accounting transactions, 1099s, payroll tax returns, etc.Past payroll and/or bookkeeping experience required; 3–5 years' experience providing payroll and/or bookkeeping services to clients preferredCertification by the American Payroll Association and/or QuickBooks preferredPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerWhy Join Us?Work with a dynamic team and diverse client baseProfessional development and continuing education opportunitiesA supportive environment where your skills and ideas are valuedIf you're ready to grow your career in payroll and bookkeeping while helping clients succeed, apply today
