Job Description A Chaplain Support Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting Army National Guard Chaplains, who provide essential spiritual guidance and assistance to Soldiers. In this position, you will be engaging in various tasks that support the Unit Ministry Team's programs and worship services. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating activities for the Unit Ministry Team Ensuring the security of all Unit Ministry Team facilities and equipment Safeguarding confidential communications and donations Organizing religious retreats and memorial services Supporting the Unit Ministry Team's readiness initiatives Maintaining Chaplain vestments and various religious items Job Duties Operate communication equipment and manage digital reporting systems Assist in planning and executing religious support operations and deployments Maintain accurate reports, files, and administrative data related to religious operations Provide specialized peer counseling for combat stress cases Helpful Skills Strong interest in organization and record-keeping Experience with office machinery such as typewriters and computers Ability to organize, plan, and execute various tasks Additionally, you will be preparing for a fulfilling future. Skills gained as a Chaplain Support Assistant are transferable to similar roles in civilian life, assisting clergy members in various places of worship. Earn While You Learn Rather than paying to learn valuable skills, you will get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will acquire these essential job skills while earning a regular paycheck and becoming eligible for tuition assistance. Training for Chaplain Support Assistants consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn fundamental Soldiering skills, followed by seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training, where you will study the roles and responsibilities of Army Chaplains, as well as religious history and context.
