This is a tenure track position in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.A tenure-track appointee must excel in teaching, especially project-based teaching, actively participate in recruitment and advising, engage in university governance and service, bring professional networks and experiences to bear, represent the school at professional events, and sustain a program of research and publication. Teaching load would consist of teaching courses in social work for FDU-NJ. The appointment is contingent on budgetary approval.This position carries administrative duties and an appointment as the Associate Director; MSW asfollows. Appointment as Associate Director would include administrative teaching release time. Should the MSW program not be approved the appointment as Associate Director would end, with a corresponding end to the administrative release.1. Taking leadership in developing a MSW Program based on the model approved for our New Jersey campuses and in consultation with NJ-based social work faculty2. Developing a successful program proposal for the regulating authorities of British Columbia.3. Following government approval of the MSW program:a. Curating the curriculum of the new master's program which is to include engaging indigenous peoples in the development and implementation of the program content.b. Helping to recruit students to and advise students in the new program.c. Staffing courses appropriately in the new program.d. Surveying the environment of healthcare employers to facilitating internship and clinical partners and helping to place students in appropriate experiential learning roles.e. Program evaluationf. Ensuring that we meet the standards and expectations of the DQAB and any accrediting organizations.Required Qualifications:1. Master's degree in social work from an accredited university.2. RSW or RCSW designation3. Four (4) recent, related health care experience providing services to individuals with complex concurrent mental health and substance use issues including one (3) year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of social work education, training and experience.4. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
