Position: Senior Counsel/Of Counsel ( Litigation)Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CAWorking Arrangement: HybridPractice Group: LitigationDirect Counsel, LLC is seeking a Senior Litigator for a prestigious boutique law firm located in the San Francisco Bay Area. This attorney will have the opportunity to work on impactful and complex litigation cases while being part of a mission-driven team focusing on public law. The Senior Litigator will primarily handle high-profile matters involving labor and employment law, public sector law, and government-related litigation in both state and federal courts. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant legal matters while being part of a collaborative and dynamic team committed to advocating for the public interest.Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of litigation, including developing case strategy, overseeing discovery, and preparing for trial. Lead trial efforts, examining witnesses, making legal arguments, and presenting cases to judges and juries. Navigate complex litigation cases, including those involving constitutional and statutory law, and class actions at state and federal levels. Represent clients in court and administrative hearings, including before the Public Employment Relations Board. Provide direct client counsel, conducting investigations, strategic planning, and maintaining client relationships. Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with legal staff to foster professional development. Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in litigation defense, with a strong focus on complex litigation cases in state and federal court. Proven ability to develop and manage discovery processes in complex legal actions. Expertise in labor and employment law, public sector law, or government-related litigation is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal advocacy skills, with a successful track record in trial and appellate work. Strong strategic thinking, case management, and client relationship skills. Commitment to serving the public sector or working in public interest legal practice. Client Profile:The firm serves a diverse range of public agencies, local governments, and nonprofit organizations throughout California, providing legal expertise and strategic counsel to navigate complex legal challenges.Compensation:The annual compensation range for this position is between $225,000 and $260,000, based on qualifications and experience.Benefits:Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options.Paid time off, including sick leave and vacation time.401(k) and profit-sharing plans.Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Commuter Benefits Programs.
