Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Prescott, Arizona.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Med Surg / TelemetryDiscipline: RNStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: Travel/nJob Description/nAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on the night shift, requiring AZ or compact licensure and strong telemetry skills./n /n Responsibilities/nWork in an acute care setting on the Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit (3rd Floor)Unit has 49 beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratioTypical patient population includes CHF, COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetics, post-cath, telemetry, CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement casesRNs are required to interpret telemetry strips and sign documentation once per shiftDiltiazem/Cardizem drips are managed at a set rate (not titrated)BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments are commonly used on the unitUses the Cerner EMR system; prior experience is highly recommendedNight shift, 12-hour shifts (7p-7a), every other weekend requiredSelf-scheduling is utilized but finalized by managementRNs may float to East Campus or PCU if qualifiedNo on-call requirementsResponsibilities include providing comprehensive care to complex medical and telemetry patients, including monitoring, assessment, and documentationRN staff are supported by charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aidesOnly one unit-specific orientation shift is providedHoliday coverage required, typically two days and an eve or two eves and a day across Christmas, New Year's, and ThanksgivingScrub color is navy blueCandidates who do not pass the dysrhythmia or sterile technique exams in two attempts will be ineligible for employment with the system for six monthsNo RNs required to titrate drips on this unitFirst-to-float policy applies; travelers may be assigned to float before core staff/n /n Requirements/nActive AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experienceCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredProficiency in reading basic telemetry strips and recent experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacementsCerner EMR experience recommended due to limited orientationMust pass a basic dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signingCopy of driver's license required for considerationTwo professional references required: one supervisory reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisory reference from the last 3 yearsMust reside at least 50 miles from the facilityNo current or recent (within 1 year) full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with facilities affiliated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity/n Benefits/nHigh Pay and BonusesMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options401(k) PlanWeekly Payroll DepositFree Online CEUsGenerous Housing AllowanceTravel and Licensure ReimbursementsNon-taxed Per Diem and SubsidyTraveler Rewards and Discounts/nAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-627193.
