This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to take the reins of our financial management and guide us towards sustainable growth. Our ideal candidate is an analytical, strategic thinker with a knack for numbers and a deep understanding of the construction industry. The role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple financial aspects of our business.Responsibilities:As a Controller, you will be responsible for:1. Overseeing all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.2. Performing GL reconciliation and ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and standards.3. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.4. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.5. Ensuring compliance with union and labor laws, as well as prevailing wage laws.6. Monitoring and analyzing the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.7. Providing insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.8. Reviewing, monitoring, and managing policies on all finance matters.9. Ensuring the accurate completion of the company's Work in Progress (WIP) reports.10. Overseeing the company's transaction processing systems and implementing operational best practices.11. Supervising the accounting team and providing guidance and support when necessary.Qualifications:The ideal candidate for the Controller position should possess the following:1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.2. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.3. Proficiency in GL reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and weekly payroll.4. Extensive experience with union and labor compliance, as well as prevailing wage laws.5. A thorough understanding of WIP and percentage of completion.6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound recommendations based on detailed financial analysis.7. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.8. Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.9.
