This role supports the development and implementation of safety programs, conducts inspections, maintains safety records, and coordinates safety initiatives to create and maintain a safe work environment for all employees.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programsConduct routine safety and hazard inspections across facilitiesMaintain comprehensive safety records, including employee training, inspections, and incident reportsCoordinate and assist in safety training for employees at all levelsInvestigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and trendsAssist with workers' compensation processes, including record-keeping and coordination with site managersEnsure compliance with OSHA recordkeeping requirementsPrepare and distribute routine safety dashboard reports and analyticsAdminister safety incentive programsAssist in coordinating safety audits and inspectionsCommunicate regularly with team members and stakeholders on safety mattersSupport the review and update of LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) proceduresOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsAssociate's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field (or equivalent experience)1-2 years of experience in safety administration or related roleProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesKnowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standardsAbility to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on the production demandPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field30 Hour OSHA General Industry CertificateExperience with safety management softwareFamiliarity with workers' compensation processesBilingual in English and SpanishWork EnvironmentThis position involves a mix of office work and on-site safety activities across multiple farm locations. The Safety Specialist must be comfortable in various agricultural settings, which may involve exposure to different climate conditions, including extreme temperatures. Some travel between sites is required. The role may involve responding to safety incidents outside normal business hours.
