We seek a clinical or counseling psychologist committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentorship, and research. Primary teaching responsibilities will include mental health and clinical science focused upper-division courses in psychopathology, mental health therapies and treatments, a senior capstone aligned with an area of mental health expertise, and introductory psychological science. This 9-month appointment carries a 24-credit teaching load (typically three courses per semester) including faculty advising and developing faculty-student research opportunities. A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology is required.The Psychology Program at Westminster University is committed to undergraduate education, emphasizing high-impact teaching practices in a student-centered learning environment. We invite candidates whose interests and skills contribute to these efforts.Minimum QualificationsA Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology with a clinical or counseling specialization completed no later than August 2026.Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including experience as the instructor of record for multiple courses. Candidates must demonstrate student-centered teaching practices that promote active, engaged, and inclusive learning.A research agenda focused on mental health that is appropriate for a teaching-focused institution. The agenda should include opportunities for undergraduate student involvement through research supervision and mentorship, with evidence of scholarly dissemination (e.g., scientific conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications), and involvement of students in other professional activities.Preferred QualificationsRelevant training, teaching, or research experience in interdisciplinary approaches to mental health, human development, and/or behavioral health/medicine.Experience teaching, mentoring, and/or conducting research with individuals from underrepresented or marginalized identities.Experience or potential for teaching undergraduate psychology courses in areas such as scientific reasoning and writing, career preparation and exploration, and supervising student internships and practicum experiences in collaboration with community organizations and service providers.Experience or interest in teaching and mentoring first-year students through interdisciplinary paired courses as part of the Westminster University WCore general education program.Application Instructions:Please submit your application through the Careers at Westminster University webpage.Review of applications will begin on January 5, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.
