SCI, the leading executive search firm in the real estate industry, has been retained to recruit a Vice President of Land Acquisition for a rapidly growing multifamily developer expanding its footprint in key markets across the Southeastern United States.Check below to see if you have what is needed for this opportunity, and if so, make an application asap.This is a high-impact role for an entrepreneurial real estate professional responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and securing new Class A multifamily development opportunities (300+ units). The Vice President of Land Acquisition will play a central part in fueling the company’s pipeline and driving long-term growth.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and evaluate markets suitable for large-scale Class A multifamily developments.Conduct comprehensive market research, including land availability, zoning, rental market dynamics, political landscape, and demographic/economic indicators.Source and qualify development sites that align with the company’s investment and design criteria.Research and compile development cost data (utility tap fees, permits, taxes, etc.).Gather comparable property data to support accurate underwriting and financial assumptions.Partner with general contractors, architects, and consultants to obtain preliminary pricing and feasibility insights.Prepare detailed financial proformas and underwriting models to assess project viability and targeted returns.Negotiate and draft LOIs and purchase agreements for land acquisitions.Create and present product programs, including design concepts, unit mix, square footage, amenities, and finish levels.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or related field preferred.Prior experience in multifamily development, acquisitions, or related real estate disciplines.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Willingness to travel extensively.
