Job Title: Director of People OperationsSalary Range: $125,000-145,000 FLSA Status: Salary, ExemptLocation: Administration *Hybrid - 3 Days in office weekly About the Position Reporting directly to the SVP, People & Culture, the Director, People Operations will be responsible for the overall strategy, design, and execution of the organization's HR operational functions. This includes overseeing all HR information systems (including Dayforce, Navex, etc.), payroll, and employee data management to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role will leverage technology and data to streamline processes, enhance the employee experience, and support the organization's mission and growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Key Responsibilities HRIS Management and Strategy Create and successfully implement a world-class vision for Evergreen Goodwill's HRIS tools that directly supports business outcomes, increases productivity, improves efficiency, and fosters innovation. Ensures that the investment in HR technology is purpose-driven and impactful. Lead the ongoing optimization and evolution of the organization's HRIS tools to meet and anticipate organization needs. Serve as the primary liaison with external vendors and internal IT partners for system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting. Develop and maintain HR system training materials and conduct regular training for HR staff and employees. Payroll Administration Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations. Lead year-end payroll processing and reporting, including W-2s and other compliance filings. Address complex payroll inquiries and resolve issues with a focus on employee satisfaction and compliance. Collaborate with Finance department with regard to budgeting and planning. Employee Data Management and Compliance Develop and enforce policies regarding the security and confidentiality of employee data in compliance with all relevant data privacy laws. Manage the full employee lifecycle within the HRIS, from onboarding to off boarding, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. Conduct regular data audits and validation to maintain high standards of data quality and compliance. Ensure the organization's HR practices and data management align with its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Reporting and Analytics Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership by analyzing workforce trends, turnover rates, compensation data, and other key HR metrics. Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports for HR management, department heads, and senior leadership to support strategic decision-making. Leadership and Team Management Lead and mentor a team of HRIS and Payroll professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and professional development. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on matters related to HR operations, technology, and data. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role focused on HR operations. Proven experience creating a vision for people operations and managing and optimizing HRIS platforms, though Dayforce specific experience is highly preferred. Demonstrated leadership and development of a high functioning team who collaborates across the organization to drive results. In-depth knowledge of payroll administration and compliance. Expertise in federal, Washington state, and local employment laws and regulations related to HR data and compliance. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to all levels of the organization. Exceptional communications skills - written, verbal and interpersonal - and a strong ability to tailor communication style to diverse audiences. Preferred Qualifications MBA or Master's Degree in Human Resources or related field. Prior experience in a nonprofit, high-growth, or mission-driven organization. Payroll Certification (Certified Payroll Professional-CPP, or other recognized certification) HR Certification (SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other recognized certification) Physical Abilities While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required sit for long periods of time, communicate with other employees by talking and hearing, required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds and to operate computer systems. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
