Reporting at the highest levels, the Director will integrate legal, regulatory, and commercial priorities into a unified framework that positions Empower as an unassailable leader in pharmaceutical compounding. The leader will deploy artificial intelligence to set new industry benchmarks-driving predictive insights, automating portfolio management, and delivering competitive intelligence that shapes executive decision-making. They will also build and scale an elite IP legal function, capable of handling global litigation, enforcement, and defense with speed, rigor, and precision. The ultimate outcome: a future-ready, globally defensible IP portfolio that anchors Empower's leadership and secures its role as a trusted, indispensable innovator. Duties and Responsibilities Intellectual Property Strategy & Enterprise Value Design and execute a global IP strategy aligned with R&D, FDA oversight, and commercial expansion. Integrate patents, trademarks, and trade secrets into a value-driving portfolio. Leverage IP to attract investors, secure partnerships, and drive market leadership. Litigation, Enforcement & Global Defense Lead global litigation strategies that balance aggressive protection with pragmatism. Direct outside counsel, ensuring outcomes reinforce Empower's market leadership. Deliver settlements or litigation results that protect assets and strengthen reputation. AI-Driven Legal Transformation Deploy AI to forecast litigation, model competitor strategies, and value IP assets. Implement AI automation for filings, docketing, and portfolio tracking. Use AI-driven competitive intelligence to anticipate and outpace rivals. Team Building & Leadership Recruit top-tier legal talent with IP and pharma expertise. Establish a culture of urgency, humility, and elite execution. Build scalable systems for mentorship, growth, and succession. Systems, Priorities & Execution Architect functional systems, processes, and procedures from the ground up. Define department goals, actions, and metrics to drive performance. Knowledge and Skills Expertise in intellectual property law, with proven ability to design and execute global IP strategies that directly drive enterprise value. Skilled in leveraging AI-driven automation, predictive analytics, and competitive intelligence to elevate legal operations and portfolio management. Strong litigation leadership across multiple jurisdictions, with capacity to balance commercial impact, regulatory scrutiny, and reputational considerations. Experience and Qualifications Requires Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Minimum 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, with demonstrated success in litigation, strategy, and portfolio management. USPTO Registration. Experience managing IP monitoring and enforcement platforms. Experience advising a corporate innovation program. Proven track record in high-growth, multi-stakeholder organizations.
