**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate **Patient Registration Rep** to join our healthcare team. The **Patient Registration Rep** is responsible for accurately and efficiently registering patients for medical services, obtaining necessary information, and ensuring a positive patient experience. + Greet patients and visitors and provide excellent customer service.
+ Accurately and efficiently register patients for medical services, including verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
+ Obtain necessary information such as medical history, medications, allergies, and other related information from patients and ensure that all information is entered correctly into the electronic health record
+ Assist the patient in filling out the necessary paperwork
+ Collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of service and provide patients with receipts
+ Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the appropriate care.
**Job Requirements**
+ High School diploma GED or equivalent.
+ Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department physician office setting healthcare insurance company revenue cycle vendor and/or other revenue cycle related roles.
+ Applicable education and/or training can be used to balance a lack of experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 2 years of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department physician office setting healthcare insurance company revenue cycle vendor and/or other revenue cycle related roles preferred.
**Special Skills:**
+ Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
+ Working knowledge of medical terminology.
+ Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.
+ Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.
+ Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
+ Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred.
**This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.**
