Overview As a LifeWise Classroom Assistant in the Marion program, you will support the LifeWise teacher in the classroom and develop positive relationships with students. Your role is crucial to provide an engaging, meaningful and organized classroom experience. Job Responsibilities Assist the LifeWise teacher (as needed and directed) Gather, distribute, and organize supplies Make copies and prep activities Participate in class games, activities, and discussions Keep track of attendance records and other administrative tasks Help with classroom management (as needed and directed) Support the LifeWise teacher with redirection for disruptive students Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times Provide guidance for students during class activities, assignments, and transitions Serve students with special needs or those requiring extra support Model positive behavior Strive to model godly character Display enthusiasm for lessons and activities Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community Develop relationships with students • Learn the students' names Follow-up with students' stories, interests, prayer requests, etc. Chaperone children to and from their LifeWise classes (as needed) Complete the Classroom Volunteer training Promote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefs Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications and Experience A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "WhatWe Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith Job Details Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Employment Type: Part-Time Grid Level: 1a Benefits Retirement plan, including employer match LifeWise Academy's hiring practices and EEO Statement are fully in compliance with both federal and state law. Federal law creates an exception to the "religion" section of employment discrimination laws for religious organizations and permits them to give employment preference to members of their own religion. LifeWise Academy is in that category. Every member is asked to complete a background check once every 3 years.
