Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in the northern twin cities area (Minnesota) This is a contract position where you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the finance team with reconciliations, reporting, and related tasks. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while contributing to the refinement of accounting processes. Responsibilities: - Perform daily and monthly account reconciliations, with a particular focus on cash transactions. - Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. - Assist with audit-related documentation and activities to ensure compliance. - Match and verify bank transactions against internal records, promptly resolving discrepancies. - Contribute to the improvement of reporting processes and the consolidation of financial data. - Support efforts to automate reconciliation and cash handling workflows. - Ensure consistency and accuracy across all accounting operations. - Collaborate with team members to refine existing procedures and implement best practices. Requirements - At least 3 years of accounting experience in a detail-oriented environment. - Proficiency in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger, and bank reconciliations. - Hands-on experience with journal entries and financial reporting. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail. - Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities. - Familiarity with Business Central and Excel is an advantage. - Proven ability to quickly learn and work within established processes. - Excellent organizational and communication skills to support team collaboration.
