A well-established and highly regarded company in Independence is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. We offer a great work-life balance, a welcoming team, and ample opportunities for professional development.Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 + Bonus Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, 401(k), and generous PTO plan ### Key Responsibilities:- Manage general ledger activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.- Maintain and update accounting records and files.- Assist with budgeting and financial analysis to support business objectives.- Ensure compliance with tax policies and oversee tax payments and returns.- Collaborate with clients to address confidential accounting matters.- Accurately post transactions and classify records within the general ledger (assets, liabilities, expenses, etc.).- Conduct month-end and year-end financial closings.- Prepare financial documents for audits.- Provide financial guidance and insights to clients via email or phone.- Stay up to date with accounting policies, ensuring compliance with regulations.- Report to the Accounting Manager and contribute to process improvements.### What We're Looking For:- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; 3+ years of relevant experience.- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting.- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work both independently and within a team.- Organizational Abilities: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.- Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and business needs with a proactive approach.If you are an accounting professional looking for a dynamic and rewarding opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
