Under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory) the incumbent will function as an Environmental Scientist in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Program member in the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM), located at the Headquarters Office in Sacramento. The incumbent will be responsible for complying with the CEQA for CalGEM projects. The incumbent will work in close coordination with contractors, as well as plan, develop, and implement innovative programs to ensure compliance with CEQA and to address emerging environmental problems and natural resource management issues in support of achieving CalGEM's mission to protect public health and safety, environmental quality, and the reduction and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the development of hydrocarbon and geothermal resources in a manner that meets the energy needs of the State.

Working Conditions

This position is located in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, with employees required to work in-person at 715 P Street, MS 1803, Sacramento, CA At least three days of remote work and up to two days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position. Alternative work locations will not be considered.

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
