Position Overview

As a pet care specialist, you'll be responsible for overnight pet sitting (10pm-7am), as well as morning, midday, and evening drop-ins in our clients' homes. This role is flexible and allows you to work with all different types of pets. You choose your own schedule, and we do ask that you're available for overnights and both morning and evening visits. Midday availability is a huge plus It's a great opportunity to earn extra income while providing loving care to animals in the comfort of their own homes.

Service Area

We proudly serve pets and families in:

New Albany, Johnstown, Westerville, Sunbury, Gahanna, Galena, Gahanna, Blacklick, and Alexandria.

Applicants must live within 15 mile radius of the locations listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for pets including feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning up after pets, and administering medications (oral or topical, if needed).
  • Dog walking hours are generally between 10 AM – 3 PM.
  • Drop-in visits are scheduled throughout the day and evening for vacation care and regular bookings.
  • Overnight sitting shifts are 10 PM – 7 AM.
  • Follow detailed client instructions to ensure consistent care.
  • Communicate with clients through our scheduling app (Time To Pet), including updates and photos.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of pets at all times.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must live within 15 miles of locations we service.
  • 1-year commitment required.
  • Love for animals is a must Pet care experience is preferred but not required – training is provided.
  • Reliable transportation and a smartphone with a data plan.
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly.
  • Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Available for most holidays, weekdays, and weekends as needed

Compensation

  • Drop-in visits & walks (10 AM – 3 PM): $18–$20 per hour.
  • Daytime or evening drop-ins (vacation/regular bookings): $18–$20 per hour.
  • Overnight sitting (10 PM – 7 AM): $50–$60 flat rate.
  • House Sitting Rate: $11 per hour
  • Flexible scheduling – we work around your work/life schedule.
