Description
The USRM (US Retail Market) Data Office is on a mission to transform how data powers the insurance industry and we're looking for a Senior Data Solutions Analyst who's ready to lead the charge. This is not just a role, it's an opportunity to be at the center of a multi-year transformation program, building a modern, unified insurance platform that will radically simplify and accelerate how we go to market.
In this pivotal position, you'll collaborate with stakeholders across the entire data value chain to define governance outcomes that make this transformation possible. You'll turn complex business needs into actionable governance processes, controls, and artifacts—laying the foundation for a future-ready enterprise.
If you're passionate about driving strategy, building Data Governance capabilities that matter, and making a lasting impact, this is your chance to join a Fortune 500 leader and help power the next generation of data governance. Your expertise. Our transformation. Together.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive deep analytical and solution-design work for complex governance deliverables (e.g. building extensive data dictionaries, specifying validation and quality rules, designing source-level capture of metadata)
- Partner with end users, data stewards, data engineers, data product owners, and data governance leaders to establish requirements for data catalog, metadata management, data quality and data lineage tooling
- Translate those requirements into reusable templates, workflows, and acceptance criteria, collaborating with data stewards, solution architects, and engineers to recommend automation approaches, prioritize requirements by business impact, and validate implementation
- Translate existing enterprise-level data governance standards and policies into executable processes for new policy data and its downstream consumption
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements during migration (privacy, retention, auditability)
- Provide day-to-day governance support to project teams during data migration, reconciliations, and cutover activities
- Drive cultural change by championing the adoption of data governance practices both within and outside the Data team, including through influence of role accountabilities and operating models
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators that measure the effectiveness and maturity of data governance delivery.
What we're looking for:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Deep expertise in data governance: experience defining and building data cataloging, data quality, and data lineage solutions
- A natural bias to collaboration: the ability to work easily across organizational hierarchies to create momentum towards a common goal
- An analytical mindset: willingness to get into the details of a complex problem statement and identify the best solution across competing requirements
- An end-to-end understanding of the data lifecycle: the ability to articulate how application design choices impact data quality, consistency, and analytics use cases
- A highly structured approach to delivering their work: the ability to break down large, long-term objectives into discrete, tactical plans and execute against them over time
- Robust project management skills: experience working on large-scale, cross-functional programs is required
- Strong communication skills: comfortable taking a direct approach to identifying, escalating, and resolving challenges to keep a multi-faceted program on pace
- Prior data/analytics experience and knowledge of using SQL, Snowflake, PowerBI, SAS, Python, data governance suite (data catalogue, data profiling, data quality).
- Broad experience leveraging AI to assist in data governance tasks is a plus.
Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
- Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred
- 3-5 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in SQL, scripting languages (Python).
