Sr. Program Manager – AI-Enabled Solution Configurator

Delaware, Ohio, United States Vertiv Group Full time
Description

Job Summary

The Sr. Program Manager - AI-Enabled Solution Configurator role leads the end-to-end development of a next-generation, modular solution configurator that begins as a rack and enclosure selector and expands into a full portfolio configurator—UPS, rack power, in-rack distribution, thermal systems (including CDUs), and related components. The system will evolve into a true solution engine with natural-language interaction, generating complete Bills of Material, pricing packages, and all required technical documentation.

This is a high-visibility position responsible for orchestrating a multi-BU program with significant business impact. Success requires strong program leadership, cross-functional influence, and the ability to coordinate product line teams, knowledge managers, offering management, IT, and engineering partners.

This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Delaware, OH location.

Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of the modular configurator program across its phased roadmap—from initial rack/enclosure selector to full AI-enabled solution configurator.
  • Own overall program performance: scope, schedule, budget, quality, and alignment to business requirements.
  • Establish and manage an integrated master plan covering development, knowledge ingestion, testing, user acceptance, and commercial rollout.
  • Drive risk management, dependency mapping, and issue resolution to keep the program on track.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Serve as the primary interface between product lines (UPS, rack PDUs, racks/enclosures, DC power, thermal/CDU, remote management), engineering, IT, marketing, sales, and regional organizations.
  • Facilitate decision-making across stakeholders and maintain alignment on requirements, priorities, and release sequencing.
  • Coordinate with offering management to ensure the configurator's roadmap reflects portfolio strategy, SKU rationalization, and global/regional needs.

Knowledge Architecture & Content Integration

  • Partner with knowledge managers for each product category to define rules, constraints, compatibility logic, and data structures.
  • Ensure technical data, documentation, pricing logic, and configuration rules are accurate, current, and consistently structured for automation and AI-based reasoning.
  • Oversee the integration of digital assets: CAD libraries, thermal/power constraints, product attributes, and solution-level dependencies.

AI-Driven User Experience & Natural Language Capability

  • Lead the development of natural-language query capability so users can specify needs conversationally (e.g., "I need 30kW of compute for edge deployment with network gear and redundancy").
  • Guide system design for intelligent recommendations, solution validation, and real-time compatibility checks.
  • Ensure the AI/ML and knowledge-engine teams have the data, rules, and workflows needed to deliver accurate and explainable recommendations.

Governance, Reporting & Executive Communication

  • Provide clear, structured updates to executives, including status, financials, risks, mitigation plans, and go-to-market milestones.
  • Run the program governance model—steering committees, decision logs, change-control processes, and investment reviews.
  • Champion adoption and change management across global sales, application engineering, and product management teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering; MBA or Master's in Technical Degree preferred
  • 10+ related experience preferably in a data center /products industry
  • Leadership & Program Management
    • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional digital or product-platform programs with high visibility and executive scrutiny.
    • Demonstrated success managing budgets, schedules, and complex technical deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
    • Strong ability to influence without authority, drive alignment, and resolve competing priorities.
  • Technical & Business Expertise
    • Solid understanding of racks and enclosures, UPS, rack PDUs, DC power, thermal and cooling systems, and integrated solution architectures.
    • Experience with product configurators, rule-based engines, CPQ systems, or digital product catalogs.
    • Knowledge of AI-enabled user interfaces, natural-language systems, or enterprise software development is a strong plus.
  • Cross-Functional Maturity
    • Ability to bridge the perspectives of engineering, IT, product management, sales, and marketing.
    • Skilled at translating business requirements into technical plans and vice versa.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present to executives and collaborate globally.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Office and lab environment. Must be comfortable working in a lab performing or guiding experiments.

TRAVEL REQUIRED
