Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled licensed fire alarm installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire protection systems, including the design, installation, and maintenance of fire safety equipment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and practical experience in construction and field service environments. The Fire Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations while providing innovative solutions for fire protection systems.
Duties
- Design and develop fire protection systems in accordance with relevant codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and standards.
- Utilize power tools and mechanical knowledge to build, install, and maintain fire safety equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics to accurately detect issues within existing systems and propose effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other engineering professionals to integrate fire protection systems into larger building designs.
- Provide field service support, troubleshooting issues on-site, and ensuring optimal performance of fire protection systems.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections, system designs, and maintenance activities for documentation purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire engineering or a related field, with a strong understanding of fire protection principles.
- Proficiency in using power tools and mechanical equipment relevant to the installation and maintenance of fire safety systems.
- Familiarity with construction inspection processes and the ability to identify potential safety hazards.
- Knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to fire protection, including the NEC guidelines.
- Strong analytical skills to detect issues in system designs or installations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- A degree in engineering or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications will be considered an asset.
