General Function Of A Career Pathway Instructor:

Empowers struggling students to advance through the LEVEL SYSTEM to achieve academic goals, gain soft and hard skills through work-based learning, and participate in faith-based character education.

Performance Metrics:

• Follow Best Practices in operation of Crossing campus model.
• Form positive relationships with students and engage with them regularly.
• Provide timely reports to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities/Functions

1. Demonstrate strong commitment to the Crossing's mission, strategic plan, and students.

2. Supports strategic plan initiatives in the areas of funding, fullday programming, students served, and the Indiana Department of Education compliance.

3. Models effective leadership consistent with the Crossing's Professional Growth Model Structure.
4. Quickly responds to feedback and organizationwide strategic plan initiatives.

Ensures all locations operate in a safe and orderly manner.

1. Ensure that proper curriculum, credits, and certificates are taught and earned within the context of Indiana Graduation Pathways.

2. Ensures that students of record are progressing towards ontime high school graduation.

3. Collaborates with parents, students, public school personnel, special education staff and administration to establish and implement a plan for each student's academic coursework, and regularly monitor progress.
4. Frequently communicates each student's academic and WBL plan with students, parents, and community stakeholders regarding student's shortand long term goals, progress towards goals, and obstacles to achievement of goals.
5. Proactively identify and troubleshoot obstacles to graduation.
6. Create and maintain academic records (attendance, behavior logs, grades).
7. Teach small learning groups or remediation courses, as dictated by campus needs.

8. Participate in Family Nights and Campus Activities a minimum of once a semester.

9. Work with Campus Team to meet student placement and participation goals.

10. Ensure campus follows the organization's Best Practices in establishing a welldefined operation model

11. Develop programs to sustain student placement in WBL for assigned campuses.
12. Develop and maintain relationships with potential businesses who will host WBL Experiences for students.
13. Work with Human Resources to understand the Department of Labor guidelines for all student workers.

14. Provide and place graduating students in job placement opportunities at nonpoverty wages.

15. Form positive relationships with students and advocates for students when needed.

16. Regularly interacts with and actively listens to students to learn about their stories, challenges, and motivations.

17. Regularly and appropriately engages students after school hours.

18. Holds students accountable for their behavior, and implements appropriate discipline.

19. Ensures that students of record receive high-quality faith-based character education.

20. Leads Family Time, God Talk, spiritual retreats as dictated by campus need.

21. Models the Crossing's core values in daily life.
22. Volunteer time in Extended Learning Opportunities as well as Spiritual Retreats and Prom (if applicable) throughout the year.

About Crossing School of Business & Entrepreneurship

The Crossing is a faith-based, state-accredited High School in the State of Indiana that offers academics, job training and faith-based character education for students who have struggled in the traditional High School setting and/or are seeking to develop essential job training skills. Academics are modeled to fit the needs of each student through a self-paced curriculum and by maintaining a balance of certified teachers and professionals from a variety of backgrounds. Student job training is provided through partnerships with local businesses, School Based Enterprises and student-run micro businesses under the direction and supervision of our Instructors. Faith-Based Character education is provided through daily Family Time, quarterly Family Nights, regular Student Engagement and weekly God Talk. Our Mission Statement is, Empowering struggling students to become contributing members of their communities through academics, job training and faith-based character education.
