Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician / Receptionist to join our eye care team. This dual-role position involves providing exceptional patient care, managing front desk operations, and supporting clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, optical experience, and a passion for delivering excellent patient service in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge will be highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional healthcare setting focused on comprehensive eye care and patient satisfaction. This position requires a lot of standing and walking.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in/check-out processes at the front desk
- Assist patients with intake forms, verify insurance information, and update medical records
- Support clinical staff with ophthalmology procedures, including aseptic techniques and patient preparation
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems such as Epic and other electronic health records
- Pretest and get patients ready for the doctors.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Manage appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-up communications
- Perform basic administrative duties including medical coding, billing support, and front desk operations
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- Prior experience in medical office settings or ophthalmology clinics preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy related to eye care or pediatrics is advantageous
- Experience with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms is highly desirable
- Retail sales experience and familiarity with retail math are beneficial for optical product sales
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and aseptic techniques required
- Previous roles involving patient care, front desk responsibilities, or clinic support will be considered an asset
WE REQUIRE ALL EMPLOYEES TO WORK 4 WEEKEND DAYS A MONTH: every weekend, every other weekend.

Pay: $ $16.00 per hour
