Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities for our residents in a Memory Care facility. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors and contribute to their overall well-being.

Duties:

- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents

- Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings

- Collaborate with other staff members to create a monthly activity calendar

- Ensure activities are tailored to the individual needs and interests of each resident

- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities

- Provide support and assistance to residents during activities as needed

- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members

- Stay up-to-date on current trends in recreational therapy and aging issues counseling

Requirements:

- Previous experience in event planning, memory care, or recreational therapy is preferred

- Knowledge of aging issues counseling and familiarity with nursing home or assisted living settings is a plus

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously

- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff members

- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with seniors

- Ability to adapt activities based on individual resident needs and abilities

- Must have a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for seniors
