Private Duty Nurse / Skilled Newborn Caregiver (Austin, TX)

About the Position:

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Private Duty Nurse or Skilled Caregiver to help care for our newborn son in our home in Austin. Our baby is stable, thriving, and home on room air after a several-week NICU stay following an apneic event at birth. He bottle-feeds well and does not require any medical equipment, but we want an experienced caregiver with strong medical or emergency training who can confidently monitor him and respond appropriately if needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone with a background as an RN, LVN/LPN, EMT, paramedic, respiratory therapist, or other medically trained professional.
  • Experience caring for infants or NICU graduates is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable monitoring for breathing patterns, feeding tolerance, and general wellbeing.
  • Calm, attentive, and confident in recognizing when to escalate concerns.
  • Dependable, kind, and comfortable collaborating with parents who are very involved in their baby's care.

Schedule:

  • Help needed during, m weekdays (flexible daytime hours)
  • Occasional night shifts available or may be added depending on fit and schedule

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and credentials
  • W-2 or 1099 options depending on candidate preference

Location:

  • Private home in Austin, TX (near central/east area)
