This role is a full-time position working 100% onsite, M-F in the Newark, NJ area. We're searching for a talented Industrial Designer - Electronics to be part of our vibrant team and help shape the next chapter of our creative journey.
As an Industrial Designer of Electronics, you will:
- Design and develop new products for our licensed toy and consumer electronics brands, from initial concepts to final prototypes.
- Create innovative designs that demonstrate creative problem-solving and the ability to think outside the box.
- Research and define new product opportunities by identifying and incorporating current technology, fashion, and lifestyle trends.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure that design intent and integrity are maintained throughout all stages of product development.
- Create sketch models, prototypes, and packaging, bringing your ideas to life through detailed and thoughtful design.
- Utilize your expertise in SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoDesk, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
- Manage multiple projects, keeping on track, with your attention to detail and deadlines
Technical Proficiency:
- 3D Modeling: Produce high-quality renders and technical drawings, showcasing your proficiency in industry-standard software like SolidWorks, Rhino, or Autodesk.
- Prototyping: Present portfolio examples of physical or digital prototypes that demonstrate your ability to bring concepts to life and refine designs through iteration.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Display a strong understanding of materials, production processes, and constraints specific to electronics, including PCB integration, casing design, and thermal management.
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Industrial Design, Toy Design, or a related field.
- Excellent skills in SolidWorks, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- A strong ability to recognize and adapt consumer and lifestyle trends into fresh product ideas.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, to articulate and share your innovative concepts.
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, keeping projects on track and delivering outstanding results.
Notes:
- Requirement: You must have U.S. work authorization without the need for company sponsorship.
- Relocation expenses are not covered for this position.
