The Bar Back provides physical and logistical support to the bartenders. They clean the bar; prepare food and beverage mise-en-place items; supply liquor, non-alcoholic beverages, ice, china, flatware, glassware, and operating supplies; and manage the draft beer system

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Clean and maintain the bar in an immaculate condition
  • Requisition and prepare food and beverage items needed to support the bar program
  • Pick up and deliver liquor, non-alcoholic beverages, ice, china, flatware, glassware and operating supplies
  • Manage the draft beer system including the change-out of kegs and compressed gas canisters
  • Complete opening and closing side-work as assigned
  • Must be willing and able to perform any related or similar tasks assigned by their supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must possess the following experience, education and skills and/or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some comparable combination of knowledge and aptitudes

Experience

  • Two years of experience in a service industry desirable
  • Beverage industry experience desirable
  • Food service experience desirable

Education

  • Secondary school degree required

  • Warm personality with good communication and interpersonal skills, especially verbal, with guests, co-workers, management, and other parties
  • Excellent grooming and presentation with a good sense of decorum
  • Very self-confident and mature; able to cooperate with fellow employees
  • Self-sufficient with good administrative skills
  • Good self-discipline with an ability to complete tasks independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, issues and co-workers in stressful situations and take responsibility in a professional manner

OTHER

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Availability must include Friday and Saturday nights
  • Physically fit and agile; able to carry 40 pounds

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.35 per hour
