Pay: $18–$20 per hour (based on experience)

Job Type: Part-time (either am shift or afternoon shift)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, occasional weekends

About the Role

Tayls N Trails is looking for a reliable, dog-loving Dog Driver / Daycamp Assistant to join our growing team

This role combines safe and timely transportation of dogs with hands-on support in our structured daycamp and hiking programs.

You'll spend mornings or afternoons driving our dogs to and from our Watertown facility, then assist the team with group hikes, enrichment activities, and structured play sessions throughout the day.

Responsibilities

Driving & Client Interaction:

• Safely pick up and drop off dogs from client homes to our facility (morning or afternoon routes)
• Follow consistent routes and schedules using GPS navigation
• Communicate with clients politely and professionally (you're often the first and last impression of Tayls N Trails)
• Ensure dogs are properly secured in crates or seatbelt harnesses during transport
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and crates between routes

Daycamp / Hiking Duties:

• Assist trainers and handlers with dog groups and pack hikes
• Supervise structured play sessions and reinforce calm, balanced behavior
• Help rotate dogs between play, rest, and training times
• Clean crates, training rooms, and play areas as needed
• Support the team in monitoring dog behavior and ensuring safety at all times
• If hiking: Facilitate a safe, fun, enrichment-based 1-hour hike with a group of dogs off-leash (on-the-job training provided)

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License & clean driving record
• Will use company vehicle for most routes; preferably willing to use your own vehicle on rare occasions
• Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Punctual, organized, and able to follow established systems
• Smartphone with GPS and texting capabilities
• Prior dog-handling or animal-care experience (highly preferred)
