P/T Graphic Artist / Print & Sign Design Superstar

Downtown West Palm Beach's leading locally-owned sign and print production company is growing Our outstanding reputation is built upon our commitment to delivering extraordinary customer service. And that includes the design services our team takes pride in providing.

We are seeking a graphic artist with print, direct mail and sign design experience. Because changes happen fast here, working alongside our team from our downtown office is required.

Position Overview :

  • Design, layout and produce graphics per jobs specifications/requirements accurately and effectively.
  • Work with clients via email and phone on design changes
  • Prepare and send jobs to various output equipment (digital and offset printing, signs, cut files, direct mail, booklets, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Prepare creative and impactful artwork for a variety of B2B clients.
  • Flight check and correct customer files
  • Manipulate and convert files as needed (Adobe, Microsoft, mailing and other programs).
  • Offer graphic design ideas, solutions and alternatives based on customer input.
  • Schedule and perform all work to meet customer requirements in a timely and efficient manner according to the schedule and workflow priorities.
  • Prepare mailings database and reports for USPS as well as prepare variable data merges.
  • Be proficient in the current technology for creating and manipulating graphics, documents and digital files utilizing existing equipment and materials.
  • Submit proofs and follow-up with customers on all job proofs.
  • Output digital files per job specifications and according to the various production equipment and methods.

Other Responsibilities :

  • Follow systems and procedures according to the company manuals.
  • Ensure all design work is approved prior to going into production.
  • Coordinate with other staff members to ensure that work meets expectations and print-ready requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience :

  • Two years education in graphic design, 1-year practical experience with 1 year of print production experience.
  • Working understanding of dual platform, applications, such as: InDesign, Illustrator , Photoshop, Acrobat Professional, Quite Imposing, PrintShop Mail, Microsoft Word, MS Excel, Bulk mail programs, Microsoft Publisher, PowerPoint etc,
  • Knowledge of PDF and postscript files and PDF plug-ins.
  • General knowledge of utility programs such as file compression, disk repair and print spoolers.
  • Ability to prepare files for output to plate, spot and 4-color process, receive and manipulate files electronically and maintain operating system on production machine.
  • Ability to send files to the image setter, wide-format printer and cutter, high speed digital printers and color copiers.
  • Proven ability in proofreading and editing.

Working Environment :

Intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse. Subject to frequent priority changes where a fast-pace and short notice occur regularly.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
