Job Overview
At TE Connectivity, you'll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. Your role as an Intern in the Global Operations Business Unit, will help us make the connections that move the world forward by:
Do Data Analytics for Cost Reduction by developing and implementing methodologies using internal (TE) and supplier's part data to identify inefficiencies in elements such as cycle time, scrap weight, material costs, overhead, and labor rates. Utilize data analytics to uncover cost-saving opportunities and present findings. This involves gathering and analyzing historical cost data, market trends, and supplier pricing to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency. Also assist in the preparation of cost estimates for projects.
Enhance current cost models for various manufacturing processes including injection molding, stamping, assembly, and machining. This includes automating existing Microsoft Excel models and Power Point through the use of macros, pivot tables, and formulas to improve accuracy and efficiency in cost estimation.
Work across multiple teams globally, including procurement, engineering, supply chain, and suppliers to gather insights and data necessary for cost estimation and reduction strategies. Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams to ensure alignment and leverage best practices in cost management

- Analyze historical cost data, market trends, and supplier pricing.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for various projects (activities such as collecting part information from engineering drawings, get from internal systems or from purchasing information to do the estimates)
- Present findings and recommendations to global teams across procurement, engineering and supply chain.
You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:
- Have earned a high school diploma or GED
- Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a BA/BS or MA/MS Degree in Data Science, Manufacturing Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university—or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered).
- Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project
- Are authorized to work in the U.S.

COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $ subject to change dependent on physical location)
