**Tuscany Italian Market & Catering** – Deli Attendant / Cashier / Pastry Counter / Prepared Foods

**Roles & Responsibilities** (cross-trained across departments):

  • **Deli Attendant**: Slice meats and cheeses to order using a slicer; build sandwiches and paninis with precision; portion and package prepared foods; recommend Italian products to guests; maintain clean and organized deli station.

  • **Cashier**: Operate POS system to ring up customer purchases accurately; handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions; maintain a tidy checkout area; pack orders and answer questions about products; ensure a friendly and efficient checkout experience.

  • **Pastry Counter & Prepared Foods**: Assist in plating and displaying pastries and desserts (cannolis, cookies, cakes); serve and package ready-made meals from the show case; monitor product freshness and rotation.

  • **General front-of-house tasks**: Restock shelves and display cases; set up and break down stations each day; follow food safety and sanitation standards; work as part of a team to create a positive customer experience.

**What we're looking for**:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a deli, bakery, grocery, or quick service environment preferred.

  • Comfortable operating a slicer and POS register (we provide training).

  • Excellent customer service skills and a warm, professional demeanor.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for long periods.

  • Availability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and occasional holidays (we are open Monday–Saturday 9 AM–6 PM, Sunday 9 AM–3 PM).
