Primary Function:

Under the direction of the Director of Online Sales and/or E-Commerce Manager, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining good custodial practices throughout the properties using the appropriate tools and equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and order in lobby, offices, breakrooms, restrooms, parting lots, elevators, escalators and other areas
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, clean, remove trash, dust, polish furniture and floors
  • Maintain all restrooms; keep all toiles clean and sanitary;
  • Maintain adequate supply of soap, towels and toilet tissues in restrooms
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas
  • Dust and wipe down countertop, desk and work areas daily
  • Clean floors, as necessary
  • Wash windows and walls as necessary
  • Empty and clean all trashcans and replace liners on a daily basis
  • Report malfunctions of plumbing and lighting to supervisor
  • Follow all safety procedures; Report accidents/injuries and safety concerns to the supervisor
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Must be able to use vacuum, mop, broom and other cleaning equipment

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Custodial/Janitorial experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

While performing this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear. Most activities involve repetitive upper body movement and bending. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (unless otherwise restricted)

Must have good hand-eye coordination

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Typical Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee works primarily indoors and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
