The Revenue Integrity (RI) Educator role is responsible for the education and ongoing training of the Revenue Integrity staff.

The RI Educator responsibilities include:

  • Provide ongoing education to RI staff on relevant topics
  • Increase the Lunch and Learn Library of presentations with updated and pertinent lessons.
  • Working with the department leaders and SMARTS to assist in creating and maintaining client protocol logs within their assigned market.
  • Assisting in ensuring client quarterly monitoring is on track to be completed by the expected due date.
  • Participating in cross functional teams as assigned to provide RI perspective.
  • Attending assigned meetings as requested.
  • Assisting in completing additional requests/tasks/projects assigned by leadership at their discretion.

Create, enhance and maintain the formal Lunch and Learn program for the RI team with programs directed toward Chargemaster, Charge Audit, and Revenue Integrity

  • Responsible for monitoring & resolving staff questions on accounts in conjunction with RI leadership.
  • Assist with identifying any trends for educational opportunities for RI staff as well as client facility/departments.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and is responsible for coaching, mentoring, & training of new hires and existing staff.
  • Responsible for striving for customer service excellence while meeting the mission and goals of the organization, as well as meeting all regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Travel as needed to client locations for education and training,
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple requests presented throughout the day.
  • Work with the team to review CMS, OIG, and other pertinent government websites to keep abreast of all the changes, how they may impact revenue, and update the training plan accordingly.

Experience We Love:

  • Five years+ of experience in healthcare industry applying revenue integrity knowledge in reviewing charge audits, reviewing and resolving revenue reports, and managing Revenue Integrity projects as assigned
  • Licensed and/or Registered Nurse preferred
  • Working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/Revenue codes, charge capture and billing best practices, and government and non-government reimbursement guidelines.
  • Excellent teaching, project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral & written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-starter with ability to complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic & fast paced work environment.
  • Experience in physician and hospital operations, compliance and provider relations.

Required Certifications:

  • HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) within 9 months of hire
