About the Company

We are looking for a Project Controls Lead to support large, multi-phase projects from planning through closeout. In this role, you will work directly with project managers, field teams, and contractors to ensure projects are well-controlled, clearly tracked, and delivered safely, on time, and on budget. This position requires strong skills in both cost and schedule management and the ability to work onsite with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with project managers to plan, track, and control scope, schedule, cost, risks, and issues.
  • Promote safe work practices across all project activities.
  • Apply standard project management and project controls processes, including WBS development, schedule planning, cost tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure contractors follow project controls requirements and contractual obligations related to schedule and cost.
  • Perform independent project reviews to verify compliance with Stage Gate or similar governance processes.
  • Deliver training on project management standards, implementation guides, and project controls disciplines such as Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA).
  • Support portfolio planning, reporting, and risk assessments aligned with long-range budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain integrated cost and schedule reports, forecasts, and contingency reviews with the project team.
  • Analyze schedule quality, measure progress, and monitor contractor adherence to schedule requirements.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate risks that may impact cost or schedule.
  • Manage the project Change Management process, ensuring changes are evaluated, approved, and tracked.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in project controls, project management, and business case support.
  • Work in both office and field settings as needed to maintain accurate project performance tracking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in project controls, with balanced experience in cost and schedule management.
  • Experience supporting large or complex projects across full lifecycle stages.
  • Strong understanding of schedule development, progress measurement, critical path analysis, and forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to interpret project schedules, cost reports, contracts, and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Proficiency with cost management and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in both office and field environments.
