We are looking for oven operators for a medium sized bakery producing foodservice and wholesale items. The oven operators are responsible for monitoring the height and size of dough in the proof box, applying toppings to the dough when required, manually loading the pans into the ovens and unloading when baking is complete. Operators will follow standard baking times and temperatures, but must monitor quality and adjust times and temperatures as needed to ensure product is baked correctly. Position is Monday to Friday with weekend work when necessarily to fill orders.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operator to join our dynamic team in the food production industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary practices, food safety, and manufacturing processes. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of our food production line while maintaining high standards of quality and sanitation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor food processing equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Prepare and cook various food products according to established recipes and specifications.
  • Adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines to ensure food safety throughout the production process.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to uphold sanitation standards.
  • Utilize basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately during food preparation.
  • Assist in training new team members on food handling, preparation techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve production efficiency and quality control.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in cooking, baking, or food preparation.
  • Familiarity with sanitation practices and food safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and CGMP standards is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues is a plus.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other manufacturing equipment is beneficial.
  • Strong knife skills and attention to detail in food processing tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
