Position Overview

The Food & Beverage Manager oversees the daily operations of the café, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while maintaining efficient, profitable, and consistent service. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to balance operational excellence with a welcoming, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily café operations, including product quality, presentation, and service standards.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure accurate stock levels and cost control.
  • Monitor labor, cost of goods, and other key metrics to maintain profitability goals.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise café team members.
  • Foster a positive, motivating, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, expectations, and goals.
  • Lead by example in customer service, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain a warm, friendly, and efficient atmosphere for guests.
  • Respond promptly to guest feedback or complaints, turning issues into opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement new menu items, promotions, and seasonal offerings to enhance the guest experience.

Financial & Administrative

  • Track daily sales, labor costs, and other financial performance metrics.
  • Prepare reports and communicate results to upper management.
  • Ensure cash handling and POS systems are managed accurately.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of food & beverage or café management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality, food safety, and service standards.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management and scheduling systems (Square and 7Shifts).
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
