Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Position – Tissue, cell and molecular regulation of embryonic and postnatal skull development

Job type: Postdoc

Location: New York City

The Holmes lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join ongoing projects investigating tissue development, patterning, and regulatory interactions controlling embryonic and postnatal development of the skull. These projects encompass a wide array of techniques, including spatial transcriptomic and single cell sequencing, use of mouse genetic models, in vivo surgical interventions, tissue phenotyping by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, and other specialized approaches to study gene regulation at the cellular and molecular level. The projects are funded through NIH grants and contracts. The lab website and publication records can be found at

The candidate will work with an integrated, multidisciplinary team of experimental and computational scientists at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. A PhD and/or MD degree is required. Applicants should have experience in molecular and cellular biology, and mouse model systems, and preferably have a background in the study of craniofacial development. The successful applicant will be self-driven and have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent verbal and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting.
