Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety as a priority, embodying the core values of superior quality care, respect for others, and effective teamwork.
Responsibilities- Conducts nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develops individualized care plans.
- Identifies teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses, collaborating with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and ensures quality education for patients and families.
- Initiates discharge planning on admission and begins patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Acts as a communication hub regarding patient status, ensuring continuity of care with health care providers.
- Supervises and trains ancillary nursing personnel, offering direction and support as needed.
- Maintains a positive work environment and fosters teamwork within the unit.
- Monitors supplies and costs to provide care in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality outcomes.
- Assumes charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain facilities).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
