Job Overview

The Catering Operations Supervisor plays a key role in leading front-of-house operations across all BTTS Events venues as well as outside venues. This position oversees a team of employees and ensures smooth, high-quality execution of catered events. The Catering Operations Supervisor provides on-site leadership, staff training, and venue support while maintaining the highest standards of service, organization, and client satisfaction.

This role will attend multiple events weekly to ensure readiness, coordination, and success from setup through breakdown.

Responsibilities for Candidate

  • Attend 3–4 events weekly, assisting with setup, event logistics, and FOH team readiness.
  • Serve as the lead FOH manager ("Event Captain") on assigned catering events.
  • Direct and support FOH event staff during setup, service, and breakdown.
  • Ensure event timelines, service standards, and client expectations are met.
  • Act as the primary on-site contact for clients and coordinators, addressing questions and resolving issues promptly.
  • Complete detailed post-event captain reports noting staff performance, equipment usage, and client/BOH feedback.
  • Train new FOH staff on service standards, event procedures, and company policies.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to current team members.
  • Lead pre-shift briefings to review event details, expectations, and responsibilities.
  • Support the Director of FOH with scheduling input and staff performance evaluations.
  • Manage and maintain venue-specific FOH inventory and supplies.
  • Report low stock, damages, or repair needs promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of FOH storage and kitchen areas.
  • Ensure display kits and supplies are properly stocked and event-ready.
  • Complete event-related paperwork, including staffing sheets, checklists, and service notes.
  • Assist with onboarding documentation and training materials for new staff.
  • Support the FOH Director with special projects and private tastings for clients.
  • Serve as a leadership pipeline for future FOH management roles.
  • Develop a working knowledge of event management software, including Tripleseat and Caterease.

Requirements for Candidate

  • 2–3 years of experience in catering operations, hospitality, or event management.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on teamwork and service excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and priorities across several venues.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Proficiency in event management software preferred (Tripleseat, Caterease).
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
