Field Technician / Laborer Position Overview

We're seeking a motivated Field Technician / Laborer who enjoys working outdoors and with their hands. Experience operating tractors or skid steers is a plus, but not required — we're happy to train the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn a valuable trade, gain hands-on field experience, and grow into a leadership position.

AES also offers a CDL Truck Driver Training Program, with eligible employees earning bonus payments totaling over $3,000 upon completion.

Field Technician / Laborer Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain erosion control devices (e.g., silt fence, erosion control blankets, wattles, mulch bags, etc.)
  • Operate equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and hand tools (shovels, staple guns, utility knives, etc.)
  • Ensure work meets site specifications and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and properly care for tools and materials
  • Interact professionally with clients, contractors, and teammates
  • Potentially lead a small crew as skills and experience grow
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Field Technician / Laborer Requirements

  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
  • Ability to occasionally work weekends or extended hours as needed
  • Previous construction or fieldwork experience preferred (not required)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Field Technician / Laborer Physical Requirements

  • Full range of motion in upper and lower body
  • Ability to walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Good vision (distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment)

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Occasional weekend work as needed
