OVERVIEW
Morning Brew Inc. is seeking a People Ops Director to join our growing People Ops team The People Ops Director will report to the SVP, Head of People Operations. The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented, deeply understands the value of people, and has a proactive mindset. This role is based in New York City and requires in-office presence four days per week at Morning Brew Inc's headquarters.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON
- Full ownership of the company's LOA program, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience from start to finish.
- Heading our Culture Club, the employee-led initiative focused on enhancing employee experience and engagement.
- Partnering with Executive Leadership and ERG leads to reimagine DEI strategy, designing initiatives and cultural moments that foster belonging, celebrate identity, and embed inclusivity into how Morning Brew Inc. operates and grows.
- Providing expert advice and support to employees to promote thoughtful, fair, and effective resolution of employee relation matters.
- Oversee the strategy and execution of company-wide training and manager development initiatives, ensuring programs are impactful, scalable, and foster a culture of growth, accountability, and engagement across Morning Brew Inc.
- Collaborate with our Office Director to deliver engaging in-office experiences and programs that enhance workplace culture and employee connection.
- Assist in leading exit interviews and supporting the offboarding process to ensure a thoughtful, respectful transition while capturing valuable feedback to enhance organizational practices.
- Manage employee benefits and 401(k) administration, ensuring accurate enrollment, compliance, and support across all related programs.
- Maintain company compliance in partnership with our PEO, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee the operational logistics of the company's performance, promotion, and bonus review processes, collaborating closely with the Head of HR and Finance to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a consistent employee experience.
- Support the Head of HR with the execution of organizational needs, design scalable people structures, and proactively address talent and team design opportunities that align with company growth.
- Perform other HR related duties, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources or People Operations, ideally within media, tech, or other dynamic, high-growth environments.
- A proactive self-starter who thrives on ownership and creative problem-solving.
- Proven success owning and improving key People programs such as performance management, compensation cycles, benefits administration, and employee experience.
- Strong operational mindset with a passion for identifying inefficiencies and building scalable, thoughtful processes that improve how teams work.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Great interpersonal skills.
COMPENSATION $150,000 - $160,000 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.

Morning Brew Inc. was founded in 2015 by two entrepreneurial college students who noticed their peers were not consuming legacy media resources about business and finance news, but had a high desire to learn about those topics. What started as a small on-campus email has since evolved into a multi-channel media company that operates 20+ unique content franchises.
