About the role:
As a Principal Fluid Systems Engineer you will provide various technical services and engineering support for safe and reliable solutions for plant fluid and mechanical systems. Typical work includes the design and analysis of thermal-hydraulic networks, equipment sizing, plant programs, and requirements management for plant design or modifications.
You will report to the Engineering Manager of Nuclear Process & Power Conversion Systems and be located at our Global Headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA. The position is hybrid; typically you will be on-site 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing products, processes, components or portions of a functional system as part of a broader engineering solution including creating layouts and detailing mechanisms, structures, and parts for a major/more complex product component, portion of a functional system/manufacturing operation, or technically advanced prototypeResearch the ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, etc. and may prepare cost studies for assigned systems, structures, and componentsDrive continuous improvement and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products, processes, and/or procedures, and contributes to development of new methods and processes, as well as their introductionSupport new engineer onboarding and trainingSupport innovation Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear)6+ years experience in the Nuclear industryExperience working at a Nuclear Power Plant, testing, or construction facilityExperience with MathCad or MATLAB or VBA or similar program.Familiarity with testing and testing analysisFamiliarity with ASME Section IIIFamiliarity with nuclear power plant licensingFamiliarity with fluid system and thermal-hydraulic design (pump, valve, heat-exchanger sizing, fluid network analyses)Familiarity with the nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and BWRs and advanced reactors or AP1000.Experience with design change control or requirements management
Beneficial:
Professional Engineer License Experience with Maximo (or similar work management tools), D2 and AP1000 plant design.Experience with the Standard Design ProcessDesign and analysis experience with the Emergency Core Cooling System, Chemical & Volume Control System, Residual Heat Removal System, Reactor Coolant System, and Containment Spray SystemExperience with ASME Section XI- Experience with MOV, AOV, and check valve programs.Experience with HVAC#LI-Hybrid
Salary: We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
