Job Summary
Seeking full or part-time position.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are a privately owned mobile practice that focuses on customized care for our patients and clients. We are a slower paced practice that spends more time with our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating proficiency in various technical skills necessary for providing high-quality care to our patients and strong communication skills. The ability to run anesthesia is a requirement as well. This role involves working closely with the veterinarian and pet owners to ensure a positive experience for our clients and pets.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work, sample obtaining and help with imaging (xray and ultrasound).
- Administer or assist in administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal vital signs and provide dedicated care to anesthetic patients.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Perform dental cleanings and understand dental terminology related to animal care.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role within a veterinary setting.
- Fear Free knowledge or certification ideal.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
- Experience with animal handling techniques/restraint.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary medicine.
- Ability to place IV catheters and understand placement/maintenance protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- A passion for animals and commitment to providing exceptional care.
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory. Join our team of passionate professionals dedicated to providing the best possible care for animals.
