We are seeking a Social Media Manager & Sales Associate to join our team. This role merges the core responsibilities of an in-store Sales Associate with expanded social media, marketing, and event coordination duties. While customer service and sales are the foundation of this position, the ideal candidate will also be highly skilled in social media content creation, campaign execution, and digital community engagement.

This position is currently seasonal, with the strong possibility of transitioning to a long-term role based on performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales & Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional guest service by greeting customers, identifying their gaming needs, offering product suggestions, and ensuring each guest feels valued for choosing GameTime Hobby.
  • Assist in executing holiday sales initiatives and maintaining a visually appealing, clean, and organized store environment.
  • Clean and prepare gaming consoles, controllers, and accessories as part of store upkeep.
  • Support all areas of store cleanliness, including customer-facing spaces and backroom operations.
  • Stock and restock shelves, maintain organized merchandise, and ensure product availability.
  • Contribute to hitting sales targets, improving profits, and reducing shrinkage during peak periods.
  • Address customer questions and concerns professionally, escalating when necessary.
  • Follow all company policies related to attendance, conduct, and loss prevention.

Social Media & Marketing Responsibilities

  • Manage GameTime Hobby's social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (Twitter), Discord, and additional platforms as needed.
  • Create, edit, schedule, and publish engaging content that reflects current trends and increases customer engagement.
  • Develop end-to-end marketing campaigns, including planning, asset creation, scheduling, execution, and performance tracking.
  • Use social media management tools—including Meta Business Suite and similar platforms—to organize, monitor, and optimize campaigns.
  • Present campaign concepts, calendars, and performance reports to management for approval and review.
  • Photograph and film products, events, and in-store activities to support content creation.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the gaming industry, trending products, and community interests to inform content strategy.

Event & Vendor Coordination

  • Manage vendor communication and scheduling for in-store events.
  • Assist with planning, promoting, and executing community events, tournaments, and other brand activations.
  • Provide marketing support for other business lines as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across major social media platforms.
  • Basic photography/videography skills preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong familiarity with gaming products, trends, and gaming culture.
  • Ability to stay current on social media trends and adapt content strategies accordingly.
  • Experience with social media tools such as:
  • Meta Business Suite
  • TikTok Creator tools
  • Canva or basic graphic design tools
  • Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, or similar scheduling platforms (preferred, not required)
  • Discord community moderation (preferred)
  • Google Workspace or Microsoft Office (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Capable of standing for up to 8 hours and lifting up to 30 lbs.
