Summary:

Safety specialists will be motivated, experienced, and qualified, with expertise in health and safety and a focus on consulting and training. The safety specialist will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of education that comply with OSHA requirements. They will work with many high-profile organizations that aim to meet regulatory compliance requirements. The safety specialist will identify the course aims and objectives and deliver an effective training program using ehsInc's best-practice methodology. They will also assist with lesson plan development, written program development, and on-site job observations.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Develop/review written safety programs and policies (technical writing skills)

· Conduct job hazard analyses

· Instruct a variety of construction industry courses (The organization invests in ongoing employee training to support professional development)

  • Fall Protection

  • Confined Space Entry/Rescue

  • Trenching, Shoring & Excavation

  • Heavy Equipment

  • Lockout/Tagout Authorized User

  • Respirator Protection & Fit Testing (QLFT and QTFT)

  • Traffic Control/Flagging

  • OSHA 10/30 Outreach – Construction/General

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required

· Minimum of 3 years of field experience

· OSHA Outreach Instructor

· Understanding of Cal and Fed OSHA requirements

· Effective communication skills in English

· High proficiency in PC based applications (Microsoft Office and Google Business Apps)

· Self-motivated to study applicable general and construction industry standards

· Excellent inter-personal skills

· Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) a plus

· Bilingual a plus.

Physical Requirements:

· Working hours will primarily be in the field conducting safety training and consulting, with some office time for reporting and various projects.

Pay: $75, $90,000.00 per year
