Job Summary

We are seeking a Boston-based Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in
.NET
and working knowledge of
Java
, along with experience in
PL/SQL
and
Investment Compliance
. This role involves participating in requirements analysis, designing and developing software solutions, and providing production support in a collaborative, agile environment. Senior-level profiles with
8+ years of experience
are welcome.

Job Purpose

Under the general direction of the Tech Lead or Development Team Manager, the Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the analysis, design, development, and support of software applications. The role requires working with multiple databases and data stores, building data pipelines, and enhancing multi-tier application code. The engineer should be able to independently design and build smaller systems or collaborate with senior team members on complex initiatives. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting, operational tasks, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret business requirements, analyze the technical environment, and translate requirements into design and implementation.
  • Design, develop, debug, unit test, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and end users to understand and evaluate business needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Document code and processes to support system maintenance and knowledge transfer.
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills across multiple technologies and assist architects in evaluating and selecting new tools or products.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment by supporting and mentoring team members.
  • Work closely with IT and business partners to share information and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Follow the organization's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure all required steps are completed prior to code releases.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–5+ years of relevant experience required; senior candidates with 8+ years of experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong hands-on experience with
    .NET
    (core skill);
    basic Java knowledge is acceptable
    .
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases;
    Oracle and SQL Server preferred
    .
  • Exposure to scripting languages such as Python or Perl is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income, and Derivatives asset classes, and familiarity with the Investment Compliance domain.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work across teams and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; team-oriented and deadline-driven mindset.
  • Strong motivation to continuously learn and expand technical skill sets.
